Cookies and storage

Cookies
The game itself sets no cookies. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, may set a cookie that is strictly needed for security, such as telling people from bots. See Cloudflare’s cookie policy.
The visit statistics described in the privacy policy come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare says uses no cookies or local storage to collect them.
Local storage
To remember your game, the site uses your browser’s local storage. It stays on your device and isn’t sent to us. It holds:
- the elements, stars and achievements you have earned;
- your Journey and Lab progress;
- your saved worlds, with their names, descriptions and pictures;
- your settings, such as sound, weather and map size.
Once you have some progress, the game asks your browser to keep this storage even when your device runs short of space. Most browsers decide that by themselves; Firefox asks you first. Saying no changes nothing else in the game.
Clearing it
To remove everything, clear this site’s data in your browser’s settings. This deletes your progress and saved worlds for good, unless you have a backup. Private or incognito windows usually forget it all when closed, and Safari clears it after a week without a visit unless the game is on your Home Screen.
Backing it up
In the game, Info › Your progress › Download a backup saves everything listed above as one file on your device. Restore a backup puts it back, in this browser or another one. The file never leaves your device unless you move it yourself.
